Article Processing Charge

Article Processing Charge

Article Processing Charges (APCs) are fees paid by authors or their institutions to publishers to make a research article available for open access. These charges cover the costs of the publication process, such as peer review, editing, and online hosting, moving the cost from the reader to the author. APCs vary widely between journals and are typically paid after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

What APCs cover

Peer review administration: The process of managing the review of submitted manuscripts.

Editorial services: Costs associated with editing and professional production of the article.

Dissemination: Expenses for making the published paper available online and in various formats.

Hosting and archiving: Costs for keeping the article accessible online and ensuring its long-term preservation.

TIAR Journal charges the following fees to authors.

Authors are not charged any fees at the time of article submission. Fees are only applicable once the article is accepted for publication. The publication and proof correction fees only apply to accepted manuscripts that will be published.  Publication Process Time

Generally, the article publication process in a SINTA 2 accredited journal like The Indonesian Accounting Review (TIAR) takes approximately 3 to 6 months from initial submission to official publication.
This duration largely depends on the following stages:
Estimated Publication Timeline
  • Initial Screening by Editor (1–3 Weeks): The editor checks the manuscript's alignment with TIAR's focus & scope, adherence to the formatting template, and plagiarism limits via Turnitin.
  • Peer Review Process (1–3 Months): The manuscript is sent to at least two reviewers using a double-blind review system to evaluate its academic quality.
  • Author Revision (2–4 Weeks): This timeframe depends on how quickly you address and correct the article based on the reviewers' comments and feedback.
  • Editing & Production (2–4 Weeks): This involves copyediting, layouting, and assigning a DOI number.
  • Official Publication: Once approved and issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA), your article enters the publication queue. TIAR is officially released twice a year (during the January–June and July–December periods).
Factors That Speed Up Publication
  • Initial Manuscript Quality: Submitting a well-structured paper that strictly follows the TIAR template and maintains a strong research methodology will minimize major revisions.
  • Response Speed: Promptly revising and re-submitting your revised documents as soon as you receive notifications from the editor will shorten the overall timeline.
